I am getting an error message when I try to get my email.

There are several common error messages when you try and use your email.

Outgoing mail server

Probably the most common one happens when you try and send out email.  The message says something like, "one of the recipients was rejected by the mail server.  The rejected address is anaddress@anisp.comIf you get a message like this, it is because you put in something wrong when you put in their address.  Perhaps you put a space somewhere in their email address.  Perhaps you something like aolcom instead of aol.com.  If you can't see what the problem is, just delete the message from your outbox and try sending a new one.

Incoming mail server error messages

The best thing to do with incoming mail error messages is to put your account information again.  In Outlook Express, go to Tools|Accounts, click the mail tab, and remove the nvinet email account.  Then, follow the directions for setting up an account with Outlook Express

If you use something other than Outlook Express, the email settings are as follows:

Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.nvinet.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.nvinet.com

Do NOT use secure password authentication.

I think someone may have sent me a huge message.  It just says receiving message x of x forever.  What can I do?

Just go to http://www.nvinet.com/ and click on "Check your NVInet Email Online".  Put in your username and password, and you will be able to read that message, or delete it at will without taking the time to download the entire thing.

It's Saturday morning, Outlook Express just doesn't work, and I have to get email out now!

No problem.  Just go to http://www.nvinet.com/ and click on "Check your NVInet Email Online".  Put in your username and password, and you will be able to read all your mail and send mail.
